Whether you are looking to get married in an historical castle in the countryside or a quirky boutique venue in the city centre, when it comes to finding your perfect wedding venue, Leeds has it all. I have picked the top 10 places for your wedding in Leeds and surrounding areas of West Yorkshire.
Yorkshire Sculpture Park is essentially an open air gallery set in the glorious Yorkshire countryside in between Leeds and Wakefield. If you want something totally different for your wedding venue, then The Sculpture Park may be just the thing. I would especially recommend having a look round if you're looking for a contemporary wedding in Leeds without booking one of the quite generic city hotels. It is a classy, modern venue that is easy to reach for everyone - they are also currently offering discounts for weddings in 2015.
Hollins Hall Marriott Hotel is a beautiful country hotel and golf course set out in the suburbs of Leeds very close to Leeds/Bradford airport. The hotel and the grounds are very picturesque with 200 acres of land and the hotel is a great size if you want a large wedding with all your guests able to stay in one place. The hotel has everything you need from stunning grounds for your photographs to a great selection of beautifully decorated event rooms to choose from for your ceremony, and even a spa so you can relax before and after your wedding! 8. Denton Hall
Denton Hall is an exclusive wedding venue in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside just outside Ilkley. The venue itself is a Grade 1 listed Georgian Country House with stunning views of the countryside and the famous Cow and Calf above Ilkley. They offer various packages including a paired event with The Box Tree catering facilities which is a 5 star restaurant in Ilkley. There are 24 hotel rooms available at Denton Hall and a luxurious suite for the wedding couple to stay in.
If you are looking for a sophisticated and grand venue within the Yorkshire countryside then this is the wedding venue for you!
Kirkstall Abbey is a beautiful 12th century Abbey just outside Leeds city centre giving a truly inspirational setting for your wedding ceremony and photographs. You can hire the church for a half or full day through Leeds city council.
Although it is not possible to get married within the ruins, you can book slots to have your wedding photographs taken for £45 an hour. You can also hire The Colonel North Room at the Abbey for drinks and canopes after your church ceremony.
So if you are looking for a lovely church close to the city centre with an unbeatable setting for your wedding photographs, then Kirkstall Abbey is perfect for you.
Hazelwood Castle is a stunning and yet quaint castle in the outskirts of Leeds set in seventy seven acres of wonderful parkland and gardens. It dates back to the 11th century and is steeped with history. If a traditional country wedding is what you have your heart set on, then Hazelwood Castle is certainly worth having a look at. They have a price list you can download directly from their website and they have offers of up to 50% off for Winter Weddings.
I think The Corn Exchange in Leeds is one of the most impressive buildings in Leeds. I have been to a couple of events held here and it was spectacular. It's not a traditional venue for a wedding but it is in a great location and is an amazing interior if you want something slightly alternative or if you want to make an impact - it will certainly do that! You can contact The Corn Exchange here for enquiries.
East Riddlesden Hall is a unique venue just outside Keighley run by The National Trust. The 17th century country house is set within beautiful gardens which make the perfect backdrop for your wedding day and wedding photographs. You can have your wedding ceremony in a choice of different locations and there is a beautifully converted barn for your recption. The best thing on offer at East Riddlesden Hall is that you can piece together the wedding day of your dreams and then it is all coordinated and organised by The National Trust Team, leaving you to enjoy your wedding in Leeds stress free!
Ripley Castle is a stunning venue just on the edge of The Yorkshire Dales, approximately 3 miles outside of Harrogate. It is an historic attraction open year round to the public so be aware of this when booking. You can choose from a range of wedding plans on offer and you can choose to have your entire event here or just your reception. Again, an amazing feature of booking your wedding here, is that when you do, your booking comes with a wedding planner. It also includes complementary menu tasting, a champagne drinks reception with canapes, a house DJ for your evening do and much much more. For an extensive list of what is on offer and a pricelist - view here.
2. Rudding Park
Rudding Park is one of my favourite Wedding venues in West Yorkshire. It is a stunning 5 star Hotel, Spa and Golf Course located just outside Harrogate. Set amongst beautiful landscaped gardens and woodland, Rudding Park is one of the most relaxing Harrogate hotels within easy access of both York and Leeds.
The Grade I listed Regency House, 19th Century Chapel and landscaped gardens make Rudding Park naturally one of the most gorgeous wedding venues in Yorkshire.
Prices at Rudding Park don't come cheap and reception menu proces start at £72 per guest, but they do often have offers on their site. For instance, they are currently offering a civil ceremony and a wedding reception for up to 80 guests for £10500. Included in their wedding packages is a red carpet entrance, a late bar until 1am, a complimentary suite for the bride and groom to stay and complementary golf for upto 8 people.
I would have to say Rudding Park is a remarkable venue and would make your special day a magical one too!
1. The Mansion
My top spot in the Top 10 Wedding Venues in Leeds has to go to The Mansion in Roundhay Park. Not only is it a beautiful building set in the green and spacious Roundhay Park a few miles outisde of Leeds city centre, it is a very affordable venue for your wedding in Leeds.
Prices for the venue hire start at just £960 in January and rise up to £2500 in the peak wedding season of August, and their wedding menus start at just £50 a head for award winning food.
The venue is classic and stylish but not over the top or dated like some of the more traditional venues - it is contemporary and would suit most couples, younger or older. So if you are looking for something a little bit different but still in your budget, The Mansion is definitely worth a look. You can arrange a viewing of the Mansion and their wedding facilities here.
