I know first hand that finding your perfect wedding venue can be hard work and even sometimes impossible if you don't want the stereotypical country house/castle wedding in the Yorkshire countryside. After all, every bride is different, and your wedding venue should be tailored to you and allow the freedom to create the wedding day that you want. New Craven Hall is a brand new industrial, urban wedding venue just South of Leeds City Centre and this could be the chic yet flexible wedding venue that you have been looking for.
I personally feel Leeds has been missing a venue like New Craven Hall and I was so pleased to have a peek at the venue last week and to meet the lovely couple behind this project. Ben and Jane are a super creative couple who had the idea of setting up a versatile event space that fits in with the ever expanding and creative culture in Leeds city centre. The number of young, independent businesses and start-ups happening in Leeds at the moment is truly inspiring and it's so easy to see how New Craven Hall is another one to join the list.
Ben and Jane are both such creative people and really are the unique selling point to this new wedding venue in Leeds. They are the faces of the venue and between them have set up the entire project from scratch themselves. Jane used to work as a bridal stylist in Harrogate so she has got many years experience working in the wedding industry. Ben runs Eiger Music studios next door to New Craven Hall and is very hands on in terms of the renovations and building required to set up the venue. It's actually unbelievable to hear how quickly they turned this venue around from a derelict warehouse club to a chic, warm and inviting wedding venue in a matter of weeks. They moved into the space at the start of 2016 and renovated and decorated the space within 6 weeks!! They opened in June this summer and have been inundated with bookings ever since!
New Craven Hall offers four different wedding packages starting at £2000 for venue hire ranging up to £5500 depending on how much or how little you want included. They can also create bespoke wedding packages tailored to you. Jane is the wedding coordinator for the venue and she will organise the running of the wedding day - she can also provide additional advice with styling the venue or even source props and furniture for your special day at an additional cost. I think this flexibility is really important and it's great that there isn't just one or two wedding packages available. Ben and Jane are super accommodating and can help you create the wedding you really want and work to budgets of all sizes.
Currently, New Craven Hall don't perform legal wedding ceremonies but they can offer wedding blessings. The venue itself can hold up to 150 guests seated for a wedding reception and even up to 300 guests for an evening reception.
They have a selection of recommended caterers that they work with such as 'Market Wraps' and 'Food for Thought'. These are just suggestions though and you can happily use your own alternative caterers.
Along with the amazing main interior, the bar area is a really great space with wonderful styling. The exposed brick walls remind me of a New York industrial style bar yet the space is open and spacious with lovely warm lighting and romantic features perfect for a wedding drinks reception. There is also an outdoor area which would be perfect on a sunny summer evening. New Craven Hall is extremely versatile and is a wonderfully chic and contemporary blank canvas for you to tailor to your tastes of wedding decor.
New Craven Hall is predominantly set up as an urban wedding venue. However, the venue is also available to hire for several different events such as art exhibitions, food events, christmas parties and even film nights. Ben and Jane are wonderful and inspiring people who have clearly put their heart and soul into making this space individual and unique and I believe it's something Leeds has been crying out for.
